Respected Guruji,
Hope you are doing well. Many of our doubts are cleared in these forums. Many thanks for that. I have following questions:-
1. Whether one should strictly avoid sleep in the noon even if one hasnt had a full 7-8 hours sleep in the night? If NO what is the exact or good time to sleep.
2. Is it good to take Makardhwaja to get the strength.
3. Also man gets aousal in the morning.. Can it be avoided? Whether one should avoid it purposefully? If one cannot wake up early in the morning say 4:30 AM.

Hello Suresh,
1. Sleep during daytime is to be avoided. On occasions where one is extremely tired or unable to control sleep sleep during the day due to lack of sleep at night, the nap taken during afternoon should not exceed 30 minutes. Sleeping beyond half-an-hour will cause undesirable effects.
2. Makaradhwaj is an Ayurvedic medicine resorted to by people afflicted with a disease or condition that has caused a loss in procreative power. There is hence a need to boost their fertility and sexual ability while trying for children. Why would a Brahmachari have such a need? The true Brahmachari does not require external supplements or medicines to maintain his strength and vitality. Strength and virility are naturally at his disposal and in abundance further to the true practice of honest and sincere Brahmacharya.
3. Erections occurring due to sexual thoughts or impressions flowering in the mind if found very difficult to control are to be curtailed by washing the urinary organ with cold water and meditating on God. Natural erections that occur during sleep or early in the morning WITHOUT any sexual thought being present occur when the body pumps blood to the genital area to re-vitalize the organs. There is no need to worry regarding such erections that are not the result of sexual thoughts/dreams. This is a perfectly healthy phenomenon. A Brahmachari should wake up at least by 5.00 A.M, have a bath and start his yogic practices and meditation if he wants to achieve unbroken Brahmacharya and get free from wet dreams. Lying in bed beyond Sunrise will make it impossible to practice absolute Brahmacharya. Ojas gets depleted further to sleep beyond Sunrise.
