Company and energy loss
Question
I have just begun practicing celibacy since two days ago. I am 30 years old. I just need to ask if we lose energy by being in company of others? I am a student and since last semester I had friends, mostly girls. And I began observing that i was spending a lot of time with them laughing and talking to an extent that by the end of the semester I began feeling drained of energy. especially I began finding that when ever i spoke to this girl, my whole day was wasted as I felt energy-less after talking to her. secondly, sexually I am gay. My experiences of life has been quiet trouble some and I have survived to date. from extreme violence in school (in India) while growing up to my parents rejecting my whole existence, i have tolerated it all. Plus the gay world isnt good either where people only want to have sex with you and there is no acceptance of any kind. So I keep masturbating or having sex with other men constantly. men have sex and never look at me again...that makes me frustrated as well. Thirdly, I am addicted to internet, becoz i feel very lonely in life. I am always on chat rooms , facebook, gaychat rooms etc. pornography, sex talk, sexual organs (male and female) do not interest me though. Yet my loneliness takes me to keep browsing the internet (it has become like a buddy now). This internet exposure also makes me dull and lethargic. such that all my work remains pending.
Since three days, I am following celebacy. This was after I hadly got rejected by a man on a gay website. I felt it as a waste of time and decided to do some housekeeping for myself by following spiritual path. I have also stopped going out and meeting those girls. can you advice me as to how can i take things forward, especially focusing on my work better and also getting out of internet addiction. secondly, does spending too much of time with opp sex make you lose energy?
Thanks.

Answer
1. Addiction to anything including the net is dangerous. One should never get caught in any addiction or pattern.
2. Any tendency to spend time with people beyond necessity (work etc.) should be curbed as this leads to loss of mental focus & Prana (vital energy) .
3. Go through each and every past answer to get clear with how to get established in Brahmacharya. As one gets established, all these addictions will be easier to get rid of and the bliss of the soul slowly surfaces leading to freedom from slavery to the non-self.
