Yoga and death

Dhananjay • 10/21/2013
Question

Hi. From my point of view, the culmination of the yoga path and of all religions is to separate the astral self from the physical body in a trance, in yoga this state is called samadhi. And there are accepted occurences of canonized saints and mystics projecting doubles, a phenomena known as bilocation.

Answer

1. The Atman (self) is neither physical nor astral. It is beyond both these. Merging consciousness back into that self is 'Samadhi'. It is one's real state. Hence there are none of these astral or physical or causal things in Samadhi which is to be experienced, being beyond discussion.

2. The Atman is beyond location, having no location. Hence things such as bi-location have nothing to do with the Atman or Samadhi, for these concern the unreal body.
