What happens after Realization?
Question
Humble greetings sir,
There are some concerns needing answered, if it is so willed:
1.) How is it possible to reside in the Self? how/why does one become an ego/jiva/individual soul which views itself as such, and not the Almighty which it really is?
2.) Secondly why is the illusion so real and pervasive/persistent? a man sees a female which then bothers him, you say this is negated through practice of long and arduous sadhanas, but why originally is such illusions so real-seeming?
3.) Finally when self-realisation occurs, what then will happen? does one cease to exist having merged with the Source as a raindrop falls and thus merges with the ocean?
Thank you sir.
Answer
1. Through merging the mind into the self, realizing everything else to be an illusion, one resides in the self. Then, he can stay this way, even while in the midst of external activity. The why and how are to be realized through direct experience.
2. What happens when you come out of a dream upon waking up? You laugh at the dream and characters, realizing it was nothing but an illusion. The same occurs after self-realization. Just as the man who came out of the dream realizes that the dream events, circumstances and characters were only a figment of his imagination, the world, its pains, the body & mind are realized as another figment of imagination indulged by the Ego centered consciousness. They no longer affect the liberated one, just as the dream no longer affects the dreamer who awoke.
