Queries regarding business
Question
Namaskar Sir,
1) Business is extremely stressful in many respects. Establishment of enterprise and overseeing operations can cause innumerable mental challenges. What should be the manner of business management:
a) Should one set a fixed time to the same eg. From 9-5 and thus prevent it from becoming a primary driver in life?
b) Should one expand with force and vigour or settle for controlling income to the limit required for comfortable sustenance?
2) If fixed passive income such as rent and dividends is available, should one, if one could, dedicate most of one's time to their sadhana and some to necessities? Is this the recommended path where scope has mysteriously appeared, as if put forth by the Lord?
3) What if unethical behaviour is the norm in a business eg. Tender acquisition commissions. Should one do as necessary?
Thanking you for your time.
Answer
"Inwardly calm and uninvolved, yet externally displaying various emotions, play in the world O Raghava" -- The Yoga Vaasistam
As told by Sage Vasista to Rama, on how to deal with the world.
1. The rule for all worldly actions, as regards the Yogi is the same. One involves honestly but remains detached to the action and its outcome. One's right is to the action alone and not to its fruit. Work honestly to the extent possible, doing what is felt right at the given moment and leave it behind. Things proceed as they have to, in the script written by the higher power.
2. When this method is understood, one plays his part in the world stage as an actor, emoting and talking as per the script, yet does not become the character. Just as an actor playing the role of a mad man does not become so in reality, the wise Yogi puts on various skins, as may be required, but ever remains virtuous, holding on to the truth which is the Atman (self)
ॐ तत् सत्
(That Supreme being is the absolute truth)
