Healing effects of Brahmacharya

Question

Hey Dhananjay.

I've been wondering for some time now, if this practice of brahmacharya truely offers the healing benefits some texts claim it does.

I've been suffering low mental health for some time, until i found out, that porn and masturbation wasn't good for your health.
So i choose to stop, but it took a while, for me to get the hang on how it worked.. and how to stop the wet thoughts from entering the mind.
today I'm at 120 days of celibacy.. and this time I find it very easy and I want to continue on this journey for many years to come.

The reason I write, is to get some clarifications on the healing benefits..

I've been having some bad knees for some years now. I'm 23 years old. I've been dealing with a problem called "myofascial trigger points" Which gives me knee crepitus and sorta inhibites me from doing sports at the level I have been able to do so before.

One of my biggest desires are for those Myofacial trigger points to disappear from my body.. and leave me with a normal functioning body.

My question is, is it possible, that the practice of celibacy will make it possible for my body to heal these trigger points illnesses from my body?

Kindest regards from Martin - Denmark

Answer

There isn't any form of self effort superior than striving for Brahmacharya, which offers the highest possibility to achieve excellence of the body & mind and eventually realize the self, when coupled with a life of Yoga. Hence the possibility to overcome the issue through such means is very bright.
