Withdrawal from the senses
Question
hi dhananjay,
some questions i want to ask are.
1.while reading Bhagavad Gita i have some doubt in chapter 2 verse 61 in this Lord Krishna says that one who is able to draw his senses inward and fixes his buddhi on the lord gets free from sense pleasures what does this mean and how to draw senses inward.
2.in one of the article i was reading some days back i have a query the author says about a balloon seller who ties the balloons in his hands after filling gas and gives away when some one buys and new balloon takes its place so the author says that our desires are like the balloons and once a desire is fulfilled another desire arises to overcome this we should make "chitta shuddi" what does this term mean can you please elaborate.
thanking you
Ganapathi.
Answer
1. Through the long practice of a life of Yoga & Brahmacharya, the past impressions and tendencies start to dissolve and weaken, whereupon comes to the Yogi deep meditation and constant contemplation upon his true self (Lord). This automatically enables one to withdraw from the senses and merge the mental vehicles into the Atman.
2. Purification at the physical, mental and karmic levels leads to Chitta Shuddhi (pure existence). It is attained by the same method described above.
