Something pulling me out

Dhananjay • 11/4/2016
Question

Namaskar DhananjayJi

I am on the spiritual path from the last two years, and during this time, I have experienced some incidents during sleep, it has happened around 8-9 times with me in these two years.
What happens is that while I am in sleep, I feel some presence which is pulling me out of my body, it is very terrifying, and suddenly my mind wakes up and I become conscious but that presence is still not gone, I experience the same pull sensation, but i keep my eye close due to fear. This experience lasts for some minute, I generally start chanting mantra with my eye close, and the thing goes away.
After this I am reluctant to sleep again fearing that this may happen again, but I eventually fall asleep but wake up few times during the night.

For better understanding, I am sharing one of my experience :-
I was sleeping alone in a room in a P.G, and during sleep, I felt very strong sensation of some energy sitting on me, and trying to pull me out of my body, suddenly my mind wakes up, now I am conscious, keeping my eyes closed , I started chanting mantras and reminding myself the lessons of fearlessness of Swami Vivekananda and something very terrifying happened, I felt that the energy caught my mouth very tightly and shaked it and then that thing was gone.

Please tell me what is this and how to get rid of this.

Answer

It is all a play of the mind which one experiences, which one need not worry upon. With Sadhana, all these fears which are a result of past Samskara-a eventually dissolve, following which it ends. One is infinite and all pervading, limitless, without a second. Who then to pull and where can one go? Relax, hold on to the Atman (self) and be at peace. No harm will come.

"One is the unborn, eternal, timeless, infinite, all powerful and all pervading Atman which has no body, no mind and no limitations. Without a beginning and without an end, he exists complete, without a second, integral with the all powerful Lord. The body and mind are super impositions, and the result of ignorance. They are not real. He who realizes this is blessed"
