Answer
1. Sleeping on a hard, level surface offers better spinal posture & relaxes the muscles deep, leading to proper rejuvenation of the musculo-skeletal system. This in turn leads to better rest, health and well being. The body & organs will be rightly refresh upon completion of sleep. A few hours of such sleep suffice to refresh oneself, unlike on a heavily cushioned mattress, where one does not enjoy deep sleep.
2. Sleeping on soft/cushioned surfaces also poses a higher chance for sexual stimulation.
3. The act of simplicity reminds the renunciate of detachment with worldly afflictions. That joy is unparalleled.
Sleeping on a simple quilt or bed sheet laid on a clean carpet is a good option. Sleeping on the bare ground is to be avoided.
