Fasting & Brahmacharya

Dhananjay • 1/20/2012
Question

Hello,   what is the importance of fast in bramcharya?? It is necessary for bramchari to take fast once a week ??{with only pure water}

Answer

People who indulge in Brahmacharya through regular Yogic practice should not fast. They should take 'Mitaahara' (balanced, moderate, timely food). Fasting on water alone, for a short time is carried out when suffering from an illness related to the stomach/digestion. This helps vacate the toxin from the body.

Unnecessary fasting weakens the body and produces ill-health.
