Love hatred and falsity

Dhananjay • 3/18/2017
Question

1) I understand that the realized soul is indifferent to the world.

How does one function practically though. Suppose you see an innocent animal or little child being harmed by a malevolent person. Or you see a religious extremist who pledges to kill a population and rapes women.

Is it advisable to play the role and become angry and take action? Even Swami Sivananda said that it was alright to become angry for morally just causes, but I am confused because I thought self-realization precluded one from doing such things. I also heard how Swami Vivekananda got into brawls with Englishman who denigrated the Hindus.

2) Is it moral for a yogi to search for work that he finds enjoyable? But then again, the one who enjoys still exists. Yet, if one cannot analyze different professions to find what he does and does not like, how can one pick a suitable profession? How does the almighty show the way if one surrenders to him.

3) The issue of tiredness during afternoon hours is of much concern. Typically occurs when carbs/sugar is taken. What is an appropriate yogic lunch and dinner? Are fried foods and cheese recommended (fat is filling)? I often want to sleep in afternoon which is terrible.

4) Very interesting pattern-my inner vasanas of lust will emerge in great significant when I have eaten well, e.g. on a full stomach. Why is this?

5) Please tell me this very important thing-if you choose to not answer anything above, please at least answer this. When the mind gets sexually stimulated, one feels pressure in genital region and cowper's fluid is secreted. The mind then secretly urges me "well you have gotten excited and the sperm is already been made; it will come out anyways so might as well engage in self-abuse". It is an evil logic. If one does sadhana, can already formed sperm be absorbed?

6) Every time I get nocturnal emission, my irritable bowel syndrome, consisting of thick sticky stool that doesn't evacuate completely, gets worse. This terrible ailment is ruining my life. What supplements would you suggest?

Answer

1. One follows the law of the land.

2. There is no harm in searching for work one feels like doing. The harm is in being attached to it.

3. Stop eating much before being 'completely full'.

4. Sense stimulation can occur in various ways. One should take an individual call.

5. Taking the mind off sexual thoughts will wane sexual energy. Doing Sadhana next will transmute it.  So such logic is incorrect.

6. Do your Sadhana and bear karma quietly. One's present state is the result of his own doing. As such karma dilutes and eventually vacates, things will set right.
